Yes people! I have some very bad news for the all the future “wannabe”-MITians. (where MIT stands for Manipal Institute Of Technology :P ). This place, under the influence of our esteem director, has metamorphosed from the ultimately cool and chilled out Manipal, to something thats well… not so cool and chilled out. The badnaam galli is no longer so badnaam. The freshies have to pay Rs. 50 as fine, for each class that they bunk. (yes, I know you r shocked. So were we. Not tto he forget the plight of the freshies!! ). The anti-ragging sqaud is functioning quite effectively. The various clubs and dance groups (and all the seniors in general) are forbidden from having any kind of interaction with the freshies. The freshies with whom one manages to interact, try and act so ultra-cool and wanna-be smart, that you end up following the director’s orders. (a freshie who had come into my room to take some last year books, sits on my bed, happily narrates an incident when she shouted “fuck you” in the presence of our chief warden (unintentionally), asks me the city I come from and then has the gall to say “oh! So you are one of those smart chicks from a small city eh??? * with proper hand movement and facial expressions et al* :I )

This is not it. Each day, something new keeps cropping up. Now, even the hostel timings have to be strictly adhered to. If the present trend continues, Manipal will no longer remain every student’s dream. *sob sob*. In fact, it’s soon transforming into the manipal our parents dreamt of :(

hmm.. so very true.I had travelled with a few freshees on my journey back here and they keep updating me about the latest.However,the LATEST is that they've started bunking classes and in most cases,one application is considered a worthy substitute for a fine!
and yeah,hostel timings... we were SHOCKED when the kc guard refused to let us in at 3am,saying it was the "Director's Order".
but then,it just took one cigarette to make him forget that :)
and thanks to u ppl,the freshees dont fear anyone!!These days I'm having to take intros n all during the sports trials to push them back to ground
Oh good lord.. u poor thing.. something like this is happening to us too and man it sucks!!! and strangely.. every batch of junis we get is wierder than the next... like nothing else... id tell u how but well id be defamin my college then so... :P makes me wonder seriously.. our kids are gonna be such freaks! :S lookin at the way things r going...

@jayant sir- :O okay... didnt know bout the application thing. but another amazing thing is dat the security guards in my block atleast r all oriyas. So a lil bit of chatter in oriya and they let u in :D
@divya- hmm...true true... are juniors are definitely a step ahead of us :I and the no-interaction thing was a way to curb ragging :P its over now and we can interact with them. *devilish grin*
@debasish- yeah... anti-couples squad. but these days they r a lil less functional due to the rains ;)
hmm Every parent tries to fullfill their childs dream... aur tum bache ro rahe ho when u are getting chance to fullfill parents dreamzzzz.... although u will be in jail but remember guys ... rules r made to be broken...
